Little distant

Little distant, where did he go?

Stay too long, who would know.

Realise that you got to change,

Time tends to rearrange.

He’s been trying, just not too much,

thinking straight, getting in touch

do something better for sure,

next weeks, been said before.

Little distant, distorted reality

Makes much sense, look at that family tree

know that it’s time to sort it out

best not to mess about.

Makes the effort, picks up his phone,

friend gets the message, friend knows the tone.

Doing something better for sure,

living for something more.

Put through the ringer more than once,

hiding in vile places gives you transference

All the many things that led to this point,

emotions fragment, people disappoint.

Little distant, cough it all up

won’t need to know, which way is up

He took the road back to us,

time to think, time to discuss.

Found them grateful, happy as clams

fixed himself up, followed programs.

Did something better for sure,

don’t forget my open door.

Don’t matter

I ain’t got no career to fulfil me

I am got no dam success

But I got the things I think matter

I don’t need to be like the rest.

Chorus. It don’t matter because I don’t need it

It don’t matter much to me at all

I won’t be no social puppet

              I can’t follow that protocol

People tell me there’s things I am needing

Put in the hours and you’ll have Gems

but I just can’t donate my lifetime

Accumulating for the sake of them

Chorus. It don’t matter because I don’t need it

It don’t matter much to me at all

I won’t be no social puppet

              I can’t follow that protocol

.

The less they know the stronger the opinions, easy to hold if you skip the facts.

Maybe I’m bent a little too often, but what’s life if you can’t relax

So I put in my best offer

Lodge it with the authority

I won’t be sad if you don’t get it

Majority ain’t my priority at all

Chorus. It don’t matter because I don’t need it

It don’t matter much to me at all

I won’t be no social puppet

              I can’t follow that protocol

We all get sent our own mail

How are you answer it is up to you

If I keep my head above water

I’ve got more chance to get through

Chorus. It don’t matter because I don’t need it

It don’t matter much to me at all

I won’t be no social puppet

              I can’t follow that protocol

The less they know the stronger the opinions, easy to hold if you skip the facts.

Maybe I’m bent a little too often, but what’s life if you can’t relax

Chorus

Coming home

Sun is shining, it’s a windy day

Feel half empty, when she’s gone away

She’ll be back, at the end of today

Coming home to us

Product better than the sum of its parts

Giving more than  just a piece of your heart

Less of craft and more of an art

Coming home to us

Coming home to us, without doubt the high tide of my day

Coming home to us, dropping in through the companionway

Coming home to us

Solving problems, talking things out

People talking, got no need to shout

Being together, we won’t go without

Coming home to us

Packed most baggag left from the past

Hindsight’s rosy, if it stays unsurpassed

Looking back it was mostly overcast

Coming home to us

Coming home to us, without doubt the high tide of my day

Coming home to us, dropping in through the companionway

Coming home to us

She’ll be home soon and I just can’t wait

Swinging clang of an opening gate

Happy story it is to narrate

Coming home to us

Kind of joy that’s hard to contain

Look inside but still can’t explain

Living without would seem inhumane

Coming home to us

Coming home to us, without doubt the high tide of my day

Coming home to us, dropping in through the companionway

Coming home to us

Professor and Tiki Davey

Got some friends, bad part of town

Kind of cats, that don’t fool around

Quick to the gun, Cavalier with knives

Do their drinking in those nasty dives

You can say what you want

Boys don’t care they wouldn’t taunt

High old times with the Professor

Tiki Davey, never better

Getting bored, life‘s too quick

No times done, if it don’t stick

Weigh the reasons, not to go

Life‘s less quick if you’re moving slow

You can say what you want

Boys don’t care they wouldn’t taunt

High old times with the Professor

Tiki Davey, never better.

Illegality, a state of mind

Always looking for an angle of some kind

Got a move quick and be resigned

Train yourself to be a mastermind

You can say what you want

Boys don’t care they wouldn’t taunt

High old times with the Professor

Tiki Davey, never better.

Keep your gun somewhere handy

Avoid the heat and dodge those vigilantes

Life of crime ain’t cotton candy

leave no witness, modus operandi

You can say what you want

Boys don’t care they wouldn’t taunt

High old times with the Professor

Tiki Davey, never better.

Picture on the wall

She didn’t like to be alone too long

Something I tried to never do

Only asked her to spend her time with me

Not saying anything new

Though I tried to find the time

Not as easy as it seems

Dedicate my time to rhyme

And the hardline that it deems

Became a picture on the wall, left saying she seen my fall

Never took the time to find out what’s on her mind

All forms a sad story, tale of loss and of woe

Can’t say that I blame her, something I think she should know

Heard she’d run out of patience

While I burnt all our time

Burning bridges from both ends

Hiding in a bottle of wine

Hazy mist descends on me

As I dig around our past

How long is forever?

How long did we last?

Became a picture on the wall, left saying she seen my fall

Never took the time to find out what’s on her mind

All forms a sad story, tale of loss and of woe

Can’t say that I blame her, something I think she should know

I things get messy when you bet with your heart

Should’ve known it was doomed from the start

I feed myself a steady diet of lies

What my heart wants is what you despise

Became a picture on the wall, left saying she seen my fall

Never took the time to find out what’s on her mind

All forms a sad story, tale of loss and of woe

Can’t say that I blame her, something I think she should know

Hollow feeling now she’s gone

World is Ashes all tastes burnt

My focus was misplaced

Think by now I’d learn

Too late to speak the truth

Or whatever else that is

Time to go along my way

Forget the analysis

Became a picture on the wall, left saying she seen my fall

Never took the time to find out what’s on her mind

All forms a sad story, tale of loss and of woe

Can’t say that I blame her, something I think she should know

Going out that Door.

She said what bought you, go on ride it back

Smells of hard liquor and Nymphomaniac

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

Flag down false prophets, to catch a lift

He said so sorry, life became adrift

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

Walking around aimless, is mighty hard work

Realities twisted, your face in a smirk

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door

Spend your day times bent, nightlife all wonky

If Karmas misspent, life is lived wrongly

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

Knowledge is useless, Guru said to you

These things you talk of, must never come true

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

Not every rainbow, hides a pot of gold

Same as the summer’s got days that are cold

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

Are you ship with no anchor, can’t stay very long

Out on the sea, is where she belongs

Can’t see the reason or the what for,

Going out that door.

 Good deed

Better experience never stopped him trying

Although he knew what was to come

Circled by beggars that were lying

He do his best to help each one.

Always room at his table

When the people came around

Latitude for the unstable

Let it go and never hand

No good deed goes unpunished,

The professor said to me

No good deed goes unpunished

Don’t make no sense to me

Helping out always cost him

Often ending up in pain

Rarely did conviction grow dim

Or overpowered by his brain

Though constantly disappointed

Refused to let them make his mind

Keep living the way he wanted

Let the past fall way behind

No good deed goes unpunished,

The professor said to me

No good deed goes unpunished

Don’t make no sense to me

Yes I’m proud to call him my friend

A man who lives by his rules

Please don’t go mistake him

Or try to take him for a fool

No good deed goes unpunished,

The professor said to me

No good deed goes unpunished

Sadly how it seems to be.

Never Found

Didn’t see it coming all arrived so quick

Felt my heart rumble thought I was seasick

Never found what I was looking for, found love to stick

didn’t see it coming....

Someone who cares for me,

the one I adore.

Someone who loves me for me,

makes the real me much more

Sit here awaiting her return, stuck in my old ways

Some times past quickly, times it feels like days

Never found what I was looking for, to quote a phrase

Sit here awaiting...

Someone who cares for me,

the one I adore.

Someone who loves me for me,

makes the real me much more.

Find myself doing things, trying to show I care

Swam against the tide of life, pantries a bit bare

Never found what I was looking for, found something rare

Find myself doing...

Someone who cares for me,

the one I adore.

Someone who loves me for me,

makes the real me much more

Lying there half awake, listening to her breathe

Not sure I deserve such love, ‘pends what you believe

Never found what I was looking for, more than I perceive

Lying there half awake....

Someone who cares for me,

the one I adore.

Someone who loves me for me,

makes the real me much more
